Yes, I know this has been a problem along the way for clients as well. Now, all providers do not do this (including myself) but most of us have been misjudged based on the faults of other providers that pull this. Unfortunately, my business is full of providers that have mental health and drug/alcohol dependencies but there are just as many of us that do not have any of those issues and don’t create drama.
So this is the paradox: blaming under 35’s for provider’s cancellation/no show issues and blaming providers for otherwise either creating drama or cancelling or ghosting their clients. I have had under age 35’s visit with me though. Some of them have maturity beyond their years, are respectful and show up on time for their appointments. The biggest sign of maturity? They read my website and don’t ask obvious questions in which the website already provided the answers. Location, rates, vital statistics, and what I am known for (reading my reviews can answer that). The last part opens up explicit texting which is an absolute no. But the under 35’s that need to be spoon fed all information, unfortunately, that is the biggest turn off.
I am sorry for those providers that have ghosted or cancelled on you. I am also sorry for the providers that have cheated you or tried to extort money. That’s all I can say. I can’t change the others but I can just be better than that for my regulars and potential “fall off the fence” clients.
